Trademark registration in India typically takes 18–24 months for final registration. The process: application filing → examination report issued within 30 days → if accepted, published in the Trademark Journal for 4 months → if no opposition, registration certificate issued. Trademark protection begins from the date of application filing, not registration.
The government fee for trademark registration is ₹4,500 per class per application (online) for individuals, startups and small enterprises, and ₹9,000 for companies and LLPs.
